Goaltender Heilbron Leads Team to National Championship NCAA Hockey

CONGRATULATIONS to Goaltender Nathaniel “Nano” Heilbron and the TRINITY BANTAMS who captured the NCAA Div III Mens National Championship – Also named MOP of the Tournament (Most Outstanding Player.
MGD Goaltending great job.

Nano From West Vancouver via NSWC to Lawrence Academy, Ma to a National Title at Trinity. He made 75 saves  at the Div 3 National Championships March 27-29, 2015

Along with a National Championship / Most Outstanding Player Award/  Nano was also named to the NESCAC All Conference First Team Through 21 appearances, Heilbron  posted the league’s second-best save percentage (.931) and goals against average (1.94). Heilbron’s best performances of the season came in a pair of road wins over Middlebury and Williams when he made 71 combined saves for a .972 save percentage.

Trinity junior goalie Nathaniel Heilbron had a stellar weekend (Feb 6 & 7) between the pipes, recording a .972 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average as Trinity went 2-0 in conference play to be selected as NESCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Player of the Week.

Goaltender Nathaniel Heilbron #34, a Junior with Trinity College NCAA Div III has been seeing lots of action this season leading Trinity to a # 4 Ranking in the current USCHO Poll (Jan 26/15).  Trinity (Bantams) started the season ranked #12 and with their play thru 16 games have 14 – 1 – 1 record and are currently on a 10 game wining streak. Heilbron has lead the team in games played with 12 games  and has a record of 10 – 1 – 1 with a Save% of .930 and 2.04 GAA.

2014-2015 (Sophomore):

Has started all 17 games played this season … Owns 11-5-1 record in those contests … Has fashioned a 1.97 goals against average, a .927 save percentage and three shutouts in those games … Has allowed two goals or less in 12 appearances … Two-time ECAC Goaltender of the Week selection (Jan. 6 & Oct. 20) … Recognized as ECAC Goaltender of the month for October … Named Hockey Commissioner’s Association (HCA) National Player of the Month for October … Earned First Star of the Week accolades from NCAA.com on Oct. 20 …. Has recorded 30 or more saves on three occasions and is a perfect 3-0 in those contests … Named MVP of Three Rivers Classic, allowing just two goals on 58 shots faced during tournament … Posted back-to-back shutouts of Northeastern in October, becoming first Raiders keeper to post consecutive shutouts since 2007-08 campaign … Named to Mike Richter Award watchlist in October.

Goalie Gray : Shutout Streak Continues

Cam Gray 96 born Goalie posts his third straight shutout and C Hill scores two as the tigers down Appleby College 3-0.

Ridley College is a Prep School in St Catherine’s Ontario and play in the MPHL, CISAA and NAPHA Leagues in Canada and US,  they also play against some CCSHL Teams like Edge from Alberta.  Cam Gray hails from Woodinville, WA (North of Seattle, WA).

Cam has been a long time student of MGD Goaltending,  since he was 7 years old, studying under the tutelage of Goalie Consultant Angelo Maggio.  Along with training with MGD Cam has become a regular member of our Summer Instructional Staff in August each year,  where he can be found instructing the next stars coming through the programs.  Cam has also become a part of the Maggio Family in Cloverdale, BC over this time with many visits during breaks in school and summer.
